Apex Clinic has given me relief after 10 years of suffering “plantar fasciitis”
48-year-old JonathanTaylor from Belfast was no longer able to enjoy his sport and exercise without suffering terrible foot pain afterwards. He visited Apex Clinic, Belfast desperate to get to the source of his pain. Apex Clinic’s unique regime of specialist manual physiotherapy treatment, called The Nelson Spinal ApproachTM cleared his foot pain and he couldn’t believe that the pain was coming from his back all along!
Jonathan, tell us when your foot pain began?
I have had pain in my right foot for at least 10 years, maybe longer. In the past I was diagnosed with plantar fasciitis. I tried various home remedies, painkillers and insoles but nothing helped with the pain. The pain was worse in the morning and after doing any exercise or sport. It was so bad that I had to hobble around the house!
How did the pain affect your life?
I play football regularly and I was in severe pain after playing. I had accepted that this excruciating pain in my foot, or sometimes both feet was going to be a side effect of doing something that I had always enjoyed. The foot pain also affected me when standing at work, even for a very short period.
What led you to Apex Clinic?
My wife saw Apex Clinic advertised on facebook and she knew how much I was suffering with my “plantar fasciitis” that she made me an appointment. I attended for an initial assessment with my specialist physiotherapist and after a thorough assessment of my foot and going through my medical history, my physio diagnosed my foot pain as being connected to an old back injury that I had from playing football over 20 years ago. I then began having regular manual physiotherapy treatment to my back to treat my referred foot pain. I couldn’t believe when the treatment on my back started to improve my foot pain!
How has Apex Clinic changed your life?
It’s fantastic! My pain levels have come down drastically! My pain levels used to be around 8 or 9 out of 10 but now after playing football or exercising my pain is around a 1 or 2 out of 10 and the pain doesn’t last anywhere near as long as it did before. I am now pain free for over 90% of the time.
What advice would you offer someone suffering from “plantar fasciitis” or other foot pain?
Online research isn’t the best avenue. I advise to book an appointment with one of the specialist physios at Apex Clinic who knows what they are talking about, to get to the source of your pain. Don’t give up on finding a solution to any long term pains.
